Both nail challenges I’m doing coincided today - it’s day 3 of love & heartbreak week with the Digit-al Dozen and also day 5 of the geometric challenge, for which the theme is “straight”. I did these to fit into both challenges because I am WAY too lazy for two posts in a day haha. Check out the full post for more pictures & how I did them!

Hi everybunny and happy 4th of July! I’m BACK! We moved, and then we went to the beach for a week, so my nails have been nekkid for like a week and a half now… but not anymore. Now they are ADORABLY PATRIOTIC.

ALSO, big news!!! I have a blog! A real big girl blog where I can write lots of words and no one will secretly h8 me for clogging their dashboard! You GUYS. This is the only nail art I’ve managed to accomplish since I’ve been in San Francisco. I’ve been working 12-14 hours EVERY DAY and after eating, sleeping and showering that leaves literally no time for any fun hobbies. I did these nails LAST Friday (as in 10 days ago!!!) and only just now found the time to edit, watermark and post them. AHH. I fly home on Saturday and all I want to do is take a week off and do my nails three times a day, I can’t even lie.

Anyway, I was at Target a couple weeks ago in one of my few free hours of the weekend and I spotted two Essie polishes and was immediately like HEY I want those, I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen them before! So I asked Google to show me them and it turned out I hadn’t ever seen them before because they’re part of the new summer collection that I didn’t even know about. I picked up Bikini So Teeny (a gorgeous shimmery light blue) and Mojito Madness, which is the green in these nails. I LOVE this color green so much and the formula was beautiful, a tiny bit thick but leveled out nicely and covered wonderfully in 2 coats.

I was going to just leave my nails plain with the pointer/middle finger accent nails and reversed on the right hand, but I wanted to do a little bit of nail art. I almost did polka dots, but I was sleepy and dots always smear on me if I don’t wait an hour to topcoat, so I just did a lil stripe on each nail and called it a day. I loved these nails! And I had to include a pic of both hands because I liked the way the reversal looked together.

Don’t give up on me, guys! I’m still around and I will be back for real so soon!!!

P.S. Sorry I just wrote a novel, can you tell how much I miss you guys? Do you feel the love? All of the love?

these nails are brought to you by the fact that i picked up my first 2 orly polishes on clearance at ulta yesterday and as they sat side by side, staring at me together, i couldn’t help but notice how much i liked them as a couple. so i was like, FINE GUYS, you can be together forever, i will immortalize your love on my nails. and then this manicure baby was born.

i did these late last night because my others were chipping and i just wanted to do something quick that i didn’t have to think about at all, so i decided to try some random color blocking/stripes/patterns. they’re a bit of a clusterfuck but i LOVE the color combo so i can’t hate them. i’ll definitely be using this color combo again in something a little less… ridiculous. maybe a full leopard because this is the first time i’ve ever done leopard print and i love it in these colors. i love these colors together, can you guys tell?

oh yeah and then i added some glitter because i picked up my first set of color club polishes yesterday (the glitter vixen set from fall 2008) and i couldn’t help myself. of course.
