Pastel studded chevron nails! It’s almost spring and I’m already craving all the pastels ALL THE TIME. Plus studs make everything better. I used all the Sinful Colors pastels that were in the picture I posted a couple days ago for these nails! Check out the full post for more pictures & info.
Yesterday my sister and I had an ADVENTURE in making our own polish wherein we just bought a shit ton of Martha Stewart glitter and like 6 bottles of clear Wet n’ Wild nail polish and went to town. It was SO FUN. None of that polish is involved in these nails but that was the background story to the reason that I took my polish off earlier in the afternoon (so I could try all my glitterz) and then by late at night when I got home I was too sleepy to do much to my nails. So I was just going to paint them this color (Jesse’s Girl - Confetti) and leave them, because oh my GOD this color is so great. It’s a sickkk purple-to-blue duochrome glitter but the glitter is so small it looks like a glitter/foil hybrid or something. I wish the duochrome translated to photos better but that’s life, I suppose. I used 4 coats here and in hindsight should have definitely done like 2 coats over black instead but oh well, next time!
So I was going to just leave them one color but then when I was done painting them I was like ugh what am I doing with my life, so I got out my white striping polish and basically just doodled on my nails and this is what happened!
I did these nails on Wednesday night so usually I would have posted them yesterday but I was too busy running errands and packing to come to San Francisco today for a month (!) for work. So here they are now! I can’t even lie, I love these nails so much. Everyone in my house either left or fell asleep by 10:30 on Wednesday night so I just hung out and watched TV and took my sweet time doing my nails and it was so awesome. And this is what happened. And I’m really happy with it. THE END.

So I was browsing through my personal Tumblr yesterday and one of the people I follow posted this pic and of course I was immediately like I WANNA PAINT THAT ON MY NAILS which is basically what happens every time I see a cool pattern now. So I did. I don’t know why but these nails were SO fun to paint and I really love how they came out. Also my nails have literally never been this long. Also also, round nails now!!

HELLO SPRINGTIME, COME TO ME. these nails make me so happy, i am so ready for spring (which is almost here in georgia!) the color scheme was inspired by our bathroom, which is painted gray with yellow tiles and white grouting. and the little pattern was on a skirt i just bought that i’m totally in love with but sadly have to return because after wearing it twice there were THREE huge holes in it. what the hell, skirt. at least now it’s forever memorialized in a manicure.

i did these late last night because my others were chipping and i just wanted to do something quick that i didn’t have to think about at all, so i decided to try some random color blocking/stripes/patterns. they’re a bit of a clusterfuck but i LOVE the color combo so i can’t hate them. i’ll definitely be using this color combo again in something a little less… ridiculous. maybe a full leopard because this is the first time i’ve ever done leopard print and i love it in these colors. i love these colors together, can you guys tell?
oh yeah and then i added some glitter because i picked up my first set of color club polishes yesterday (the glitter vixen set from fall 2008) and i couldn’t help myself. of course.

most of this was on clearance/sale though so like whatever. i just can’t pass up a good bargain! it’s in my genetics, i can’t defy my genetics!
when i get home i’ll make a little list of all the names of the colors in case anyone is interested… that is unless i’m too busy playing scrabble and putting 800 coats of glitter on my fingernails.
jewelry nails! i just really love glitter ok. and i got some striping polish yesterday and wanted to try it out. they literally look like i have pieces of jewelry at the ends of my fingaz. SO SPARKLY. also it’s the first time i’ve done this rim thing on all of my nails and it’s a pain but i love the way it looks. luckily glitter is forgiving!
