Hey! Here I am! Well… sort of. I THINK I might have time to paint my nails later today before I go to work that night shift, but just in case I don’t, I decided to just go ahead and post this simple mani that I did last week. This is literally the only time I’ve painted my nails since the pinwheel-y nails I posted like… what, two weeks ago? My nails have been BARE for so long and it’s the saddest thing ever but damn do 12-hour days take it out of you. Especially when you’re on a weird sleep schedule. My nails were so long when I painted them like this but they have since broken and I had to file them off, but they’re still not nubbins so yay! Also sorry the photo quality isn’t quite the same as usual, this was just a quick iPhone pic I took to show my sister :)
Anyway I just basically wanted to let you guys know I’m still alive and I am trying really hard to find the time/energy to do nail art again because ugh I miss it so hard!
Essie - Peach Daiquiri (impulse buy that I love SO much)
Milani Jewel FX - Gold
I did these nails on Wednesday night so usually I would have posted them yesterday but I was too busy running errands and packing to come to San Francisco today for a month (!) for work. So here they are now! I can’t even lie, I love these nails so much. Everyone in my house either left or fell asleep by 10:30 on Wednesday night so I just hung out and watched TV and took my sweet time doing my nails and it was so awesome. And this is what happened. And I’m really happy with it. THE END.
China Glaze - Four Leaf Clover (green)
Milani - Orchidia (light purple)
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - White On, Sun Kissed (orange)
Sinful Colors - Dream On (neon magenta)
Zoya - Robyn (blue)
These nails are based on the dress in the second picture, which I fell in love with as soon as I put it on… unfortunately the stupid strap broke so I haven’t been able to wear it for a while because I’m too lazy to fix it haha. I love how the pattern is kind of random and messy but also orderly and symmetrical. I had a lot of fun doing this mani, it was nice to not worry about my lines being perfect for once and I love the color and pattern combos! Also the berry color on my ring finger matches the berry color on the dress in person, but my camera didn’t believe me when I tried to tell it that. We’re having this strange gross cold snap right now and I’m bummed because otherwise I would have fixed the dress and worn it with matching nails today. BOO.
China Glaze - First Mate (navy), For Audrey (turquoise), Light As Air (light purple)
Milani - Cool Vibe (berry), Orchidia (medium purple)
OPI - Did It On ‘Em (chartreuse)
Sephora by OPI - Domestic Goddess (dark purple)
Zoya - Pippa (yellow)
I have been busy/lazy this week (busy some nights, lazy the others haha) and last night I had a date with my boy and got home late but I was jonesin’ to paint my nails because I’d been wearing those neon eye burners since Monday. I didn’t have time to do anything fancy or awesome before bed so I went with the old standby, a nice glitter gradient! I was just going to leave them as is without the gradient because Revlon Royal is SO PRETTY, oh god it’s like the most beautiful royal blue smooth jelly ever. But of course I had to add more glitter.
The gold is a Kleancolor I picked up on a nail polish adventure to a beauty supply store that I thought would have an awesome stock of polish for cheap but turned out only having NYX Girls and a few Kleancolors… oh well though, at least I snagged this beauty!
Kleancolor - Tiara Gold
Milani One-Coat Glitter - Twinkle (they are LIARS, this was 3 coats for opacity but whatever cuz it’s really pretty)
Revlon - Royal
Last week I ordered the China Glaze Prismatic collection (from here for so cheap I couldn’t even believe it, if anyone else wants all of them like I did) and omg they are SO AWESOME. This one is Optical Illusion, which is teal that flashes pink and has a lot of pink/blue/silver glitter, so I used corresponding colors to do a design on the rest of my nails. In hindsight this would have probably been easier if I had taped off for part of it, but I didn’t know what I was really doing when I started… just kinda started painting lines haha. I wish y’all could see the duochrome in this pic but just trust me, it’s awesome and you need to see all of these glitters in person!
China Glaze - Optical Illusion, Icicle (silver)
Milani - Mint Candy (green), Beach Front (blue)
OPI - Sparrow Me the Drama (pink)
so i picked up three of the new milani spring colors and wanted to use all of them RIGHT AWAY and this is what happened! i thought they’d be more pastel but they turned out super bright, maybe cuz i layered them over white. i think i like them even better this way. i was totally not prepared for the time commitment of these nails though, they took over an hour just for one hand but at least now i know i can make a LOT of really tidy lines over and over. i feel like i can do anything to my nails now! my imagination is my only limitation!
haha ugh sorry for that last sentence there you guys.
Sally Hansen - White On
Milani - Orchidia
Milani - Mint Candy
Milani - Beach Front
Wet n’ Wild - Collecting Pollen
this is how my nails look right this second and UGH i love holographic ANYTHING. GIVE ME MORE FOREVER. about to take them off to do valentine’s nails for my *date night* tomorrow night (aka grilling steak and playing pool because i’m actually a boy).
Milani 3D - Hi-Res
Milani Jewel FX - Gold
2/2/12 polish haul!
I went looking at a couple different stores for the Milani 3D holos cause I’ve noticed even their displays disappearing from a lot of stores so of course being an obsessive hoarder I had to find them before they disappeared EVERYWHERE, which will probably not happen but whatever. So I ended up getting Hi-Tech, Hi-Res, and Digital, which were the only 3 I really wanted (and a couple days later I saw Digital on clearance at Target, so maybe they are being discontinued?)
Of course while I was out I found the Sally Hansen HDs on clearance for $1.55 at Rite-Aid so I picked up Resolution, Wavelength and Laser.
And I couldn’t resist that Spoiled glitter (Show Me the Money). I JUST REALLY LIKE GLITTER OK. And I didn’t have any green glitters yet! The Spoiled brush is the absolute worst, though. Just in case anyone wondered. It’s like big and paddle-like and SUPER uneven.
Ah well.
