Dressed Up Nails

a short rant (I’m sorry in advance)

Hi everyone! Okay as I’m sure you guys know, I’ve never posted a “rant” or anything of the sort on this tumblr - I love nail art and I love sharing it with you guys and so this lil blog is usually a pretty positive and upbeat place because keeping it makes me really happy. HOWEVER, I just need to share a short rant and hope that the person in question sees it and comes to their damn senses.

I just want to know HOW someone who is an EDITOR of the NAIL ART tag could feature a stolen tutorial. I’m serious. How. I want to know how that happened. I knew immediately that it was a Nailside tutorial and I literally cannot understand how anyone who knows enough about nail art to be an editor did not recognize it. Even if you don’t recognize a tutorial or an image as stolen, oh my god, DO A LITTLE HOMEWORK. It’s not that fucking hard! I went to that girl’s tumblr and it was filled with images that weren’t at all related to nail art and it was obvious that they had all been reblogged/reposted, which is a pretty good clue that THE TUTORIAL PROBABLY ISN’T HERS.

I feel kind of lame saying something like “shit like this really brings down the integrity of our tumblr nail art community” but come on. Shit like this really brings down the integrity of our tumblr nail art community. Editors, please take five seconds and do your homework before you feature something. If you’re going to edit the nail art tag, get familiar with the nail art world. Stop embarrassing yourself and everyone who is a part of this community. We have enough people getting credit for stolen images without our editors promoting it too.

Okay. I’m done. Sorry for the interruption in our regularly scheduled cheerful programming! I will probably delete this post when I’m done being angry about it. I’ll also be back later with a happy post and some new nails for you guys!
