Anonymous asked: Hello, there! I just wanted to say that I do love this nail blog. There's a lot of great nail art out there, but this one actually gives me ideas for things that I can actually do, since I'm not very patient. XD I also was wondering if you could do a brief explanation as to how you do your glitter gradients? I've see several different tutorials, but I don't know what will be easier/look better. Thanks in advance!
Hey there! Thank you! :) Glitter gradients are super easy and fun to do. The main thing you need to do is figure out what glitter polishes you have that will work the best. I’ve found that the ones that work best for me are usually a mixture of medium-sized and tiny glitter bits in a clear base that wouldn’t be opaque on their own without at least 2-3 coats. You don’t want it too sparse but if it’s too dense it won’t gradient properly.
What I do in a nutshell is wipe almost all the glitter off my brush and lightly paint my nail starting about the middle or 2/3 down and going to the tip (like you usually paint). Then I get more glitter on the brush and paint a thicker layer right at the tip. You can get elaborate and do multiple coats of thin glitter to get a really slick gradient, but this method takes about five seconds and it looks pretty much the same to me :)
